This week the Year 11 GCSE Food and Nutrition class enjoyed a cookery demonstration by Wenda Bristow from the Livestock and Meat Commission.
While she made Lamb curry and Turkish flatbread with beef, red onion, feta and pomegranate Wenda discussed the nutritive value of meat and the importance of the NI Farm Quality Assurance Scheme in relation to guaranteeing traceability and good animal welfare. Pupils enjoyed tasting the dishes and learning new skills which will help them throughout their GCSE course.
