This week the Year 11 GCSE Food and Nutrition class enjoyed a cookery demonstration by Ms Edel Healy from the Livestock and Meat Commission.
While she made Lamb curry and meatball marinara Edel educated the pupils about food provenance, the nutritive value of meat and the importance of the NI Farm Quality Assurance Scheme in relation to guaranteeing traceability and good animal welfare.
Pupils enjoyed tasting the dishes and learning new skills which will help them throughout their GCSE course.
