On Saturday 10th September, Cambridge House played their second match in the Ulster Schools Super League against Glenlola Collegiate.
After an early start and a sleepy bus journey, the Cambridge House girls were ready from the whistle. Possession of the ball was fairly equal throughout the majority of the first half, however with persistent attacking efforts from Ellen Friel, Sara Galloway and Ellie McDowell Cambridge House worked their way into the oppositions circle and won a penalty corner. Vicki Winter, well positioned on the right post, scored the first goal of the match.
Glenlola quickly came back with their first goal, taking the score to 1-1.
With the sun beating on the Cambridge House girls backs, they once again drove up the pitch into the oppositions half. A beautiful cross from Ellie McDowell enabled Vicki Winter to slot the ball past the goalkeeper and score her second goal of the match.
In the second half, Glenlola were determined to make the score even, but solid defence from Alyson Greer and goalkeeper Katelyn McKormick ensured the score remained 2-1 as the final whistle blew. Yet again, another well-deserved victory for the Cambridge House girls.
