On Wednesday 16th June 2016 the Year 11 Home Economics class travelled to Loughry College in Cookstown to take part in the ‘Feed Your Mind’ event. The students got the opportunity to both visit and participate in a number of interesting practical demonstrations including ice cream manufacture, nutrition awareness, chocolate manufacture, hygiene monitoring, taste testing, packaging technology, bread manufacture, human respiration and meat technology.
The inclusion of a careers talk was also invaluable, as it provided an insight into careers in the Food industry and the courses available at the Loughry campus.
